Still life is one of three of the most common compositions artists use to create work. Traditional compositions are either portraits, landscapes or still ife compositions.

For the first assignment, art students will photograph their own still life compositions. Gardeners from the South Ridge community have brought in fruit, flowers and vegetables grown in their gardens this past summer for art students to use to create still life paintings. Photography will be displayed in support for the Fall art fundraiser “Art to Remember”.

Artwork created in the art drawing & painting studios will be printed in full color on to cards available for purchase (available before Winter holiday). Fundraiser forms will be handed out in class and orders taken before select “home” volleyball games. All money raised will go to offset student cost towards the art field trips to the Twin Cities.
