Based on the still life provided complete a pastel drawing.
Begin by preparing your paper by taping down to a drawing board with a 1/2″ border.
Using an Ebony (4B) pencil draw the still life – using line only. Fill the space. Exaggerate forms to fill space – break all four sides of the page. (30″)
Fill in forms with pastel, blending as you go with your fingers. Wash your hands as needed. adjust color so that it is repeated throughout the image. Add highlights with colors already established. Once the page is completely covered with color add black outline/shadow. Smear with finger. Spray with pastel fixative (Instructor will do this after school).
Completely go over the entire page with second layer of pastel, building color and form, ending with black. Have the pastel sprayed again by your Instructor.
