Ojibwe Glyph

IMG_3491_8x10Artist Wendy Savage worked with students to create a Ojibwe glyph for the front and back covers of their sketchbooks based on the Ojibwe ribbon applique work used on traditional clothing.

Additional images of birch bark basket work that included glyphs of light and dark bark. Depending on the season the inner bark would be light or dark. Images were scraped away  allowing the color below to show.

More information concerning this activity can be seen on the CBAI web site.
