Chose two different insects to draw from the observation from insect photos. Arrange them into a composition, making sure the insects are the focus of the work.
On a 4 1/2″ by 6″ black paper draw with a regular pencil first, and then add value and shading with a white colored pencil. The high contrast really allowed the details of each insect to “pop”! Each insect should have at least three values and image should strive to capture sharp, accurate details.
