Assignment One:
Draw lines on the example sheet of the calligraphy to show the descender, ascenders and full height of the capitol letters and lower case letters.
Line 5 or more sheets in your sketchbooks (horizontally) based on the lines you have drawn on your sample sheets.
Complete one of the poems provided on a sheet of parchment paper. Be sure to line (light pencil) the parchment paper to fit on the paper with even borders (1-2″) centered on the sheet.

Assignment Two:
Choose a song lyric to write out on a broadside. Include a small illustration within/around the initial capitol letter.
The illustration is to be in full color (gouache) with ink for line. Using a light pencil center the text on the final paper. Draw the illustration. Paint in the color and complete using calligraphy nibs.
